Highlights

42- Coldplay. I love the melody of the first part. The haunting lyrics are resonant: "Those who are dead, are not dead, they're just living in my head." The second part is a real departure from the first, and it's one of the few songs where you really hear Coldplay rock. The guitars and the drums are locked in together.

3s and 7s- Queens of the Stone Age. The initial riff just rips. It's so powerful. Everyone is playing on a really, high, and intense level on this track. The drums just blast through it all. When the bridge hits, everything that was built up to that point is just destroyed, and I love how it sounds.

Good Times Bad Times- Led Zeppelin. I just love the drumming, because no one did it quite like John Bonham. He had a talent for adding off beats into a song. He didn't just lock in to the guitar riff, and plateau with his playing. He hit the sweet spot with his right foot. Just astounding. Of course, everything else is great but I tune in to the drums.

Computer Blue- Prince and the Revolution. That scream! The scream of a lunatic, music genius! I love it. "Till I find a righteous one, computer blue." Sometimes you hear a song like this and think that God let the artists see the future or something.

Reapers- MUSE. I love the riff! This whole song is just really explosive and fun. Those hard-hitting MUSE songs are really powerful. Dom does more than keep time- he adds his personal touch to every song and finds ways to throw in unique fills.

It Ain't Easy- David Bowie. This song is so wacky. I love the wacky classics. The chorus just moves! It takes flight. Bowie was a master.

Morning Bell- Radiohead. It has an odd, titillating groove that feels like it could derail, but never does. Having a song hold so tightly together in an odd meter is fun to listen to.

This City- Snoop Dogg. This one has a unique mixture of styles. There is a lot of funk and soul mixed in. The rap is great. I like how Snoop spins the beat around during that part.

There is more to come. Thanks for checking out my blog.
